Cobb Cooker Taiwan

Gourmet Cheeseburger

A gourmet, cheese burger is as American as it gets, see our recipe below for the ultimate, cheese burger cooked perfectly on the COBB.

Gourmet Cheese Burger

Serves 4

  • 500g beef mince

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 onion

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 Tbsp sweet Thai chilli sauce

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 egg

  • Salt and pepper

  • 4 slices cheddar or similar cheese

  • Ketchup and mustard

  • 4 burger buns

  • Fresh lettuce like romaine

  1. Chop onion finely and sauté in olive oil until soft.

  2. Place the mince, cooked onions with the oil, egg and sauces into a bowl and season. Mix together well (using your hands is best).

  3. Shape into even patties and rest in the fridge for half an hour.

  4. Light a Cobble Stone and wait a few minutes until it has turned grey. Or, if you don’t have a Cobble Stone on hand, ready your briquettes in the COBB.

  5. Place the griddle on the COBB, the lid on and let it heat up nicely for at about 5 minutes.

  6. Butter the burger buns in the meantime.

  7. Rub your burgers with a little oil. Remove the lid and place on the grid. Turn once after about 5-7 minutes and cook for the same amount of time on the other side. Place the slices of cheese on top for the last few minutes of cooking.

  8. Place the buttered buns onto the grid for a few minutes as well to crisp up.

  9. Build your burger – we added ketchup at the base, the succulent burger patty, then the rocket and mustard on the top bun. Delicious!
